Merseyside Quiz Leagues

This competition is open to teams finishing first or second in any other than the top division of each of the constituent leagues of the MQL.  It is played over 2 evenings during April.  Depending on the number of teams wishing to take part, the first evening is usually played on a mini league basis at 3 or 4 locations.  The top team from each location qualifies for a similar competition on the second evening at a single venue.  Leagues with only 1 division have local rules to determine the eligibility for this competition.

1. Entry to this competition is open to teams finishing first or second in all divisions excepting the First Division of each of the constituent leagues of the MQL.
2. Matches will be played on the dates specified in the fixture list and will be played in accordance with the rules of the MQL. Rule 54 applies to any team failing to fulfill a fixture.
3. All MQL matches are to be played using the 2 attempt format.
4. It is the responsibility of the WINNING TEAM to forward the match score sheet to the competition Secretary within three days of the match. Failure to do so will render the winning team, liable to penalties under Rule 31.
5. Each constituent league will be required to supply one ten round question set, as specified by the Competition Secretary. Each set must be sent to the Competition Secretary a minimum of two weeks before the Round in which it is due to be played. The Competition Secretary has the right to require the rewriting of any or part of any Set which is deemed unsuitable. In the event of the Competition Secretary being involved in one of the teams participating in the Competition, these tasks will be delegated to a colleague from a team not involved in the competition.
6. Teams failing to conform to the rules of the competition will be liable to such penalty at the MQL Council deems necessary.
